Cops killed in National Conference house attack in Kashmir

Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, Apr 13 (IBNS) Two policemen were killed in a militant attack at the house of a ruling National Conference worker in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. Later in a counter operation one militant died.
Officials said the deceased policemen are Head Constable Abdul Hamid and Constable Vinod Kumar. 
 
They came under heavy firing of militants when they were performing duty at the house of NC activist Yawar Masudi in Khrew. Both the policemen were rushed to hospital but they died on the way, officials said. 

Security and Kashmir Police forces cordoned off the area soon after the attack and started nabbing the attackers.

A police official said that soon after the attack Police and Army launched a search operation in the area, but when police approached the houses where the militants were hiding they opened fire on the search party.
 
One militant was killed so far.
