Congress working committee to meet today

New Delhi, Jan 13 (IBNS): The Congress Working Committee (CWC), the highest decision-making body of the party, will meet in the national capital on Tuesday to chalk out a political strategy.

This will be the second CWC meeting in recent months to discuss the political situation and the challenge before the beleaguered Congress after the Lok Sabha polls debacle.

The CWC meetings were held a few other times but only for the passage of condolence resolutions in the wake of the demise of AR Antulay and some other senior leaders.

Sources said the CWC meeting is likely to discuss various organisational issues.

Reports said that speculations are also rife about the elevation of party vice-president Rahul Gandhi as Congress president at the CWC meeting.

Earlier on Monday, party spokesperson Randip Surjewala said that the Congress vice-president was “our leader even when he was general secretary”.
