Mumbai, July 4 (IBNS): Days after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Akash Vijayvargiya courted a controversy by beating up an official, Congress MLA Nitesh Rane and his supporters were seen throwing mud on an engineer, media reports said.

Rane was angry over engineer Prakash Shedekar at a bridge near Mumbai-Goa highway for bad roads.

Later, the engineer was also tied to the bridge.

A First Information Report (FIR) has reportedly been filed against Rane, who is the son of veteran Congress leader and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Narayan Rane.

Days ago, BJP leader Kailash VIjayvargiya's son and Madhya Pradesh MP, Akash, was caught on camera assaulting an Indore Municipal Corporation officer with a cricket bat. Akash was protesting with the locals against the corporation's move to demolish the building.

Though he was arrested, Akash walked out of the jail after being granted bail on Sunday. He was garlanded by party workers as he walked out of the jail four days after being arrested.

Pulling up Akash for his activity, Prime Minister Narendra Modi rebuked the leader and also said the BJP must expel such a member without considering his lineage.
