Congress manifesto drafted to please separatists, jihadis: BJP

Chandigarh, Apr 5 (UNI): Commenting on the manifesto released by Congress for the Lok Sabha elections 2019, BJP on Friday said it has been drafted to please the separatists and jihadis, in a bid to win the polls by a frustrated Rahul Gandhi, who was now ready to sacrifice the unity and integrity of the country to attain power.

In a statement here, BJP national secretary Tarun Chugh said the Congress and its allies, in their bid to oppose Prime Minister Narendra Modi, were trying to echo the sentiments of Pakistan and the sleeper cells of separatists and terrorists.

"It has come as a surprise to every nationalist in the country that Congress, if it comes to power, has proposed to do away with Section 124 of IPC, which actually has a provision for punishment for anti-national and seditious activities," he said.

By promising to abolish Section 124 of IPC, the Congress was not hesitating to commit a sin, on the directions of "Tukre Tukre Gang", Mr Chugh alleged.

The BJP leader asked Mr Gandhi to clear his stand on National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah and PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti's demand, regarding a separate Prime Minister for Jammu and Kashmir.

Questioning the silence of Congress on the issue, the BJP national secretary said it was now clear that Congress' hand was meant to protect the divisive forces, who want to disintegrate the country.

He said BJP woud not allow any compromise with the unity and integrity of the country.

"BJP will instead expose Rahul and Congress' lust of power and defeat their designs to disturb the peace and stability of the country," he added.
