Chandrasekhar Kundu joins Trinamool

Kolkata/UNI: Social activist Chandrasekhar Kundu joined the Trinamool Congress in the presence of West Bengal Higher Education Minister and party Secretary-general Partha Chatterjee at Trinamool Bhavan today.

Kundu works in Asansol Engineering College. For the last four years he has been at the forefront of a “Save Food” movement, according to a party statement.

His efforts have led to savings of more than three lakh plates of food. He is also running protein clubs in Kolkata, Delhi and Mumbai along with community kitchens for children.

He has set up six evening coaching classes for underprivileged children in Bankura, Ayodha Pahar (Purulia) and Asansol.

Post Amphan, he has run three community kitchens in Sundarban as well. Apart from this his range of activities include supporting sex workers in Asansol during COVID (600+ sex workers and their children).

Senior Congress leader from Bankura Arun Pathak along with 550 families also joined the Trinamool in the presence of party MLAs Swapon Bauri and Dhirendranath Layek, District Chairman Subasish Batabyal, District President Shyamal Santra and District Coordinators Gurupada Mete, Subrata Daripa and Mrityunjay Murmu.
