Ceasefire violation by PAK troops at Poonch

| | Aug 20, 2014, at 05:02 pm
Poonch, Aug 20 (IBNS): In another ceasefire violation, Pakistani troops opened fire at India posts at Hamirpur sector of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday night.

This was first such violation of ceasefire since India called off foreign secretary level talks with Pakistan that was scheduled for next week.

Sources said unprovoked firing took place as Pakistani troops used semi-automatic and automatic weapons during the attack. Indian soldiers also “responded adequately”. No death or damage was reported in the firing.

At least 12 incidents of ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops were reported along the Line of Control (LoC) and the international border in Jammu region in the recent past.
