CBI registers eight more FIRs in Vyapam scam

New Delhi, Aug 5 (IBNS): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday said it has registered eight more FIRs in connection with the Vyapan scam.

" The Central Bureau of Investigation has today registered eight FIRs relating to alleged Vyapam Cases," the probe agency said in a statement.

On the directions of Supreme Court of India, the CBI had taken over the investigation of the FIRs which were earlier registered by the Madhya Pradesh Police.

"Further process of taking over of remaining cases is under way," the CBI said.

The Congress-led opposition has been unrelenting in their demand for the resignation of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje for their alleged help to disgraced cricket tycoon Lalit Modi and that of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for Vyapam scam.
