New Delhi, May 21 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday filed an affidavit before the Supreme Court giving a clean chit to the Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav and his former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister son Akhilesh Yadav in a disproportionate assets case registered against them.

It is seen as big relief to the father-son duo in the disproportionate assets case registered against them.

The CBI, which is the probe agency in the disproportionate assets case, filed the affidavit before the top court on Tuesday, on the application filed by Vishwanath Chaturvedi (now a Congress leader) seeking status report of the CBI investigation in the case against Yadavss in 2007.

The top court took on record the CBI affidavit and fixed the matter for further hearing to July.

The CBI affidavit was filed through Ajay Kumar SP, CBI. He informed the court that it found no evidence to register a Regular Case against Yadavs and a report was sent to CVC.

The case was closed in August 2013 by the CBI, the CBI affidavit stated.
