CBI arrests senior IRS officer among 4 in fraud and cheating cases of over crores of rupees

Kolkata/UNI: The CBI investigating a 2017 fraud and cheating case of over Rs 100 crore has arrested four suspects, including an Indian Revenue Services officer (IRS) after grilling them for hours in the city on Monday.

Sources today said IRS officer Bikash Kumar and former Inspector of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence Sandip Dikshit among other four have been arrested by the anti-corruption wing of the CBI, which has been probing a fake company that allegedly cheated crores of

rupees in the name of export of goods.

They were also accused of smuggling sandalwood, which were seized in Hong Kong.

The CBI sleuths took all the four to Nizam Palace on Monday and arrested them after they allegedly could not give proper answers to the questioners.
