Captured Pak terrorist entered India 90 days ago : Media reports
Quoting its sources NDTV reports that Naved alias Usman Khan, 22, revealed in his overnight interrogation that he had been trained by the Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar e Taiba.
The terrorist has reportedly disclosed that he entered India through the Kashmir Valley during Ramzan, along with another terrorist.
Investigators have learnt through night-long interrogation that Naved, who says he is from Pakistan's Faislabad, had been hiding in the Kashmir Valley for over a month.
Naved and his companion came to Udhampur by truck. He has reportedly told interrogators that he had specific orders to target military convoys on a part of the highway south of the Banihal tunnel. This route is taken by Amarnath pilgrims but sources have said that pilgrims were not the target.
Naved has given several contradictory statements ever since his capture. He will be questioned by top police officers in Jammu.
He was accompanied by another terrorist-Nomen-and the duo attacked a BSF vehicle carrying 44 personnel.
Two BSF constables-Subhendu Singh and Rockey were killed in the attack. But the retaliation said to be up by Rocky, the only gun-carrying soldier in the contingent, also left Nomen dead and prevented the terrorists from causing greater casualties among the BSF men.
Naved then fled into a forest nearby, taking three villagers hostage. He was overpowered by the unarmed villagers when he started firing from a hilltop school. He was then handed over to security and police personnel when they arrived.
