Lucknow, Aug 20 (UNI) Targeting the state government, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati on Tuesday said apart from controlling crimes, the Uttar Pradesh government was failing miserably in maintaining law and order situation in the state.

In a tweet, the BSP supremo alleged, "Due to the wrong policies of the Yogi Adityanath government, 'jungle raaj' is prevailing in UP. Before blaming the officials for this, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will first have to stop providing every kind of help and protection to the criminals, which is also essential for public welfare."

Slamming the Yogi-led BJP government over the rising petrol prices, she said, "The increase in the prices of petrol and diesel by the UP BJP government is a cruel step that leads to rise in inflation and badly affects the poor and middle-class families. Deteriorating law and order situation, inflation and unemployment will add to the woes of people. The government should direct its attention towards public welfare."
