On hearing the sound of a dropping of some material, Border Security Force (BSF) Punjab troops on Saturday launched a search operation and recovered 3.2kg of heroin wrapped with yellow adhesive tape, from the village Daoke in this district.

A BSF spokesperson said that the troops also recovered a mobile phone of an Indian smuggler.

He said that the BSF troops successfully thwarted yet another attempt by Pakistani smugglers to smuggle drugs into Indian territory.
