BJP, MVA win three Rajya Sabha seats each

Mumbai: The Rajya Sabha elections have seen a big political drama in Maharashtra. After waiting for 9 to 10 hours, the result was declared on the wee hours of Saturday in which three candidates of Mahavikas Aghadi and BJP each won the election.

The BJP has successfully fielded a sixth candidate in the form of Dhananjay Mahadik, and his victory has dealt a major blow to the Mahavikas Alliance, especially the Shiv Sena.

It has become clear that BJP's third candidate Dhananjay Mahadik got some votes from Mahavikas Aghadi.

Therefore, BJP has overcome to Shiv Sena in this election.

The strength of BJP was 123. After the election of two Rajya Sabha candidates, the BJP had 28 votes. However, Piyush Goyal got 48 votes and Anil Bonde also got 48 votes.

After that Dhananjay Mahadik got 27 first preference votes while Shiv Sena candidate Sanjay Pawar got 33 votes against Mahadik.

Therefore, it is estimated that nine votes of independents have been split. Mahadik has won with 41 votes. Sanjay Pawar got 33 votes.

The BJP had a total of 106 MLAs and 7 independent supporters with 113 numbers. Therefore, BJP got 123 votes as first choice.

Bonde got 48 votes and Goyal got 48 votes. This led to a total of 96 votes. After that Mahadik got first choice with 17 votes. Out of 27 votes, 17 were from BJP. The remaining 10 votes were left. Hitendra Thakur led BVA gave three votes to Mahadik. MNS gave one vote. After that it has become clear that nine votes belong to independents got to BJP.

BJP's Piyush Goyal and Anil Bonde won the first round Piyush Goyal is considered close and loyal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Shiv Sena's Sanjay Raut, NCP's Prafulla Patel and Congress' Imran Pratapgadhi won the election .

Piyush Goyal and Anil Bonde got 48 votes each followed by Imran Pratapgadhi 44, Praful Patel 43, Sanjay Raut and Dananjay Mahadik got 41 each and defeated Shiv Sena Sanjay Pawar managed 33 votes.
