BJP failed to make Ram Mandir in past five years and they speak about Hindus: Mamata Banerjee targets PM Modi

Kalchini, Apr 6 (IBNS): Attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said the right-wing party only speaks about 'Hindus' but failed to build a Ram Mandir even in its tenure of five years.

"BJP only speaks about Hindus but could not make a Ram Mandir in the past five years," Banerjee said addressing a rally in Kalchini.

She said the BJP raises the issue during polls.

She even compared Narendra Modi with mythological character Ravana.

"He says he has 56 inch chest. Even Ravana has huge chest. Did anyone like Ravana? No one likes him," she targeted Modi.

BJP chief Amit Shah recently said the opposition parties should clarify whether they want the Ram Mandir to be constructed.

"We haven’t moved away from our promise of building a Ram temple. It is our commitment. We don’t accept it as disputed land, it is for the opposition to make it clear if they want temple or not," Shah was quoted as saying by News 18.

The first phase of the Lok Sabha polls will be held on Apr 11.

The seven-phase polls will end on May 19. Counting of votes will take place on May 23.
