A stampede incident in Bihar's Baba Siddhnath Temple in Makhdumpur town on Monday left at least seven people dead and nine others injured.

Alankrita Pandey, the district magistrate of Jehanabad, told Hindustan Times morning that the situation is under control.

The injured people were rushed to  Makhdumpur and Jehanabad for treatment.

The temple was reportedly witnessing a rush of worshippers since it was the fourth Monday of the holy Hindu calendar month of Shrawan when Lord Shiva is worshipped.
