Bihar: Brahamputra Mail catches fire near Sarobag Halt

Munger, Sep 21 (UNI) The train services on Jamalpur-Kiul section of East Central railway were affected today when the generator car of 14055 UP Brahamputra Mail caught fire near Sarobag Halt in the district.

Rail police said that 14055 UP Brahamputra Mail after chugging out from Jamalpur railway station was running towards Kiul railway station when generator car of the train caught fire near Sarobag halt.

Source said Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel acting swiftly detached generator car from the rest of train.

Meanwhile, Police Superintendent of GRP Jamalpur Amir Javed said that the reason behind fire mishap was being ascertained.

Nobody was injured in the incident. He said train service on Jamalpur-Kiul section were disrupted due to the mishap.

Efforts were on to normalise train services on the route.
