Bihar Board topper Ganesh Kumar arrested for fraud

Patna, June 2 (IBNS): Topper of this year's Bihar Board Class XII examination Ganesh Kumar has been arrested over forgery charges, media reports said on Friday.

While he claimed to be of 24 years, his actual age is 42 and Kumar is a father of two kids.

He was arrested after he failed to answer basic questions in a TV interview like last year's topper from the state Ruby Rai.

The Bihar School Examination Board has lodged a case against him for concealing his age.

Kumar in an interview to a TV news channel said singer Lata Mangeshkar is known as 'Maithili Kokila', a title bestowed on folk singer Sharda Sinha.

Last year, Ruby Rai had triggered controversy and embarrassment when she had called  political science as “prodigal science” before TV cameras. She had even said that the subject was about cooking.

She had also failed the re-examination conducted by the state board.

The board had cancelled her test result after she failed to pass the re-examination.
