Bengaluru airport receives hoax bomb threat call

Bengaluru: Bengaluru Police early on Friday received a hoax bomb threat call at Kempe Gowda International Airport.

"The Airport police control room recorded a fake bomb threat call by an unknown person. Central Industrial Security Force and police conducted a thorough investigation at the airport till 0700 hours," Airport authorities stated.

The police said an unidentified person made a bomb threat call to police control room at 0300 hours.

Acting on the threat call, the police control room informed the airport police station who conducted a 2-hour search on the premises with bomb-disposal squad, but it did not find anything.

"We received information about a bomb and are checking the international airport thoroughly with CISF," Northeast DCP Anoop Shetty said.

The police are investigating the matter.
