Bank Manager arrested accepting Rs 20,000 as bribe

Samastipur, Feb 19 (UNI) Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday arrested Manager of Central Bank of India Jitendra Nath while he was accepting Rs 20,000 as bribe from one Sanjay Kumar Thakur.

CBI sources said that Sanjay Kumar Thakur, a native of Rosera, had lodged a complaint that Bank Manager Jitendra Nath was demanding Rs 20,000 as bribe from him to sanction loan under Pradhan Mantri Employment generation scheme.

On the basis of his complaint, a trap was laid leading to arrest of Jitendra while he was accepting Rs 20,000 as bribe from sanjay, sources added.

'Arrested Manager was taken to Patna for his thorough interrogation in this connection," sources said adding that the raiding team comprised of Inspector Ashish Pandey, Ashok Kumar Jha and Srinarain besides others.

He would be produced before the special CBI court in Patna after his thorough interrogation, sources stated.
