Bangladesh: Two ‘robbers’ killed in Chattogram

Dhaka, June 4 (IBNS): In a gunfight with Rapid Action Battalion of Bangladesh,  two suspected robbers were killed on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway in Choto Kumira area in Sitakunda upazila of Chattogram, media reports said.

The identities of the deceased aged between 25 to 35 years are yet to be confirmed, reported The Daily Star.

The bodies of the deceased were sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) for autopsy.

"The gunfight took place at Choto Kumira Bridge area at around 2:30am,” Additional Director (AD) of Rab-7 Mashkur Rahman told The Daily Star.

Acting on a tip off, a patrol team of Rab-7 went to the area while a group of robbers were taking preparation to commit robbery. Sensing the presence of Rab, the robbers opened fire on them, the official told the newspaper.

A foreign pistol, two guns and 31 rounds of bullets have been seized from the place.
