At least 14 people arrested in Muzaffarpur violence
The incident took place in Bihar's Muzaffarpur on Sunday as an irate mob set fire to houses and attacked Azizpur village - predominantly minority-dominated pocket located around 55 km from state capital Patna.
Police said the clash happened over the issue of a love affair between a girl and a 19-year-old Hindu boy from a village.
An FIR was also registered against an “unnamed mob of 5,000” people. A large number of policemen rushed to the village on Monday morning to ensure that there is no fresh violence.
Reports said the situation is tense but under control. Besides a large number of policemen, senior officers of the district are camping at the village.
The state government also announced Rs. 5 lakh compensation for the families of those killed in the attack.
