Assam nursing student raped and murdered in Bengaluru

Guwahati/IBNS : A 19-year-old nursing student from Assam was reportedly raped and murdered in Bengaluru.

The victim girl hailing from Assam’s Barpeta district had recently joined East West College in Bengaluru for a course in nursing.

The family members of the victim said that her admission was done through a youth named Anisur Rahman who is also hailing from Assam’s Goalpara district.

The Bengaluru police have already arrested the prime accused Anisur Rahman and registered a case at Byadarahalli police station based on a complaint.

According to the reports, the girl was reportedly gang raped and murdered by some culprits in Bengaluru on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief and Dhubri MP Badruddin Ajmal, Barpeta MP Abdul Khaleque and Rajya Sabha MP Ajit Kumar Bhuyan sent letters to Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and sought necessary action against the culprits.

In the letter, Badruddin Ajmal said, “She was gang raped and murdered by some culprits at Bangalore on 16/12/2020. In respect to the mentioned incident, I request you to take exemplary action against all the culprits and murderers.”

Ajmal also requested the Karnataka Chief Minister to provide necessary arrangement to send her dead body to Assam and provide all kinds of security to Assamese students who have been studying in the state.
