Assam : 14-year-old girl drowns in river while taking bath after Holi celebration

Guwahati/IBNS: A teenage girl drowned while she was bathing in a river following Holi celebrations in Assam’s Nagaon district on Tuesday evening.

The incident took place at Kampur Charaihagi area where a 14-year-old girl drowned in Kopili river while she went there to take a bath following Holi celebrations.

When she didn’t come back to home the family members and other villagers launched search operation in the river.

Later the locals found her body from the river and immediately admitted her to a local hospital, but doctors declared her brought dead.

The deceased girl was identified as Janmoni Das.
