Lucknow/UNI: The Lucknow metro resumed operations from Monday.

Official sources here said that the metro services was resumed from 0600 hrs in the morning. Two metros from the depot situated at Transport Nagar were run on the up and down line.

Metro officials were posted on all 21 metro stations of the North-South corridor. The officials will be responsible for ensuring that all COVID-19 related rules are followed.

An arrangement for sitting after leaving one seat has been done in the metro. It is mandatory for the passenger to wear a mask while travelling. Those who come without masks will have to buy one at the metro station and only then will they be provided entry.

The Lucknow metro had issued its action plan for operations last Wednesday. A desk has been put up at all stations for the COVID screening of all passengers.

The metro operations had been stopped due to the lockdown in the state owing to COVID-19.

Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited Managing Director Kumar Keshav said that the metro stations are being sanitized every four-five hours. Directions have been given to sanitize lifts, escalators, ticket counters, automatic fare gates and ticket vending machines every three-four hours.
