Are former Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath, his son Nakul joining BJP?

| @indiablooms | Feb 17, 2024, at 08:09 pm

New Delhi/Bhopal/IBNS: In what could be a fresh jolt to the beleaguered Congress ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath and his son are speculated to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), media reports said.

Very interestingly, Nakul Kamal Nath has dropped the party name and symbol from his X handle bio.

This comes a day after BJP state chief VD Sharma claimed several Congress leaders are upset with the party's top brass.

As per a report by The New Indian Express, either Kamal Nath or his son Nakul may switch camps on February 22 ahead of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in the state.

In a significant remark, the Madhya Pradesh BJP chief said Congress leaders, who are in pain for not attending the Ram Temple consecration ceremony in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya last month, should be welcome to the BJP.

Congress' setbacks in Maharashtra

Just days ago, Ashok Chavan dumped Congress and joined the BJP in presence of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Chavan's switch comes days after senior leader Baba Siddique dumped Congress and joined the Ajit Pawar camp of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).
