Kalaburagi, May 24 (IBNS/UNI): After the Lok Sabha poll debacle, senior Congress leader M Mallikarjuna Kharge on Friday said that AICC Working Committee will meet in Delhi on Saturday to find the reasons for party's poor performance and find steps to build the party to bring back the past glory.

Kharge, who suffered a humiliating defeat in his home constituency Kalaburagi on Thursday, addressing a press conference here on Friday, said that it was bad time for grand old Congress party and no one to blame for poor performance of the party and the need is to build from the grass root level and come to power next time .

He said that "Congress had debacle in this election but no one should lose their heart, we will go ahead with our party ethics and ideology. In the meeting tomorrow we will find out the reason for the debacle and send a strong positive message to the party workers."

Replying to a question, Kharge said that it is not correct to blame AICC President Rahul Gandhi or CLP leader Siddaramaiah in Karnataka for the debacle.

"Rahul Gandhi explained about his party stand on development but people did not give positive response. We respect voters accept their verdict," said he.

Kharge alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not performing but seeking vote on emotional issues.
