Afzal Guru's execution wrong and badly handled: Tharoor

| | Feb 09, 2015, at 09:00 pm
New Delhi, Feb 9 (IBNS): Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Monday triggered a controversy by saying that the hanging of Parliament-attack convict Afzal Guru two years back was 'wrong &badly handled'.

Tharoor tweeted: "I think the hanging was both wrong &badly handled. Family should have been warned, given a last meeting & body returned."

Monday marks the second death anniversary of Guru.

In December 2001, nine people were killed when five terrorists drove into the Parliament complex and opened fire. All the terrorists were shot dead.

Guru was arrested shortly after the attack and accused of planning it.
