New Delhi, June 7 (UNI): The security of Union Home Minister Amit Shah has been beefed up by the Delhi Police by placing additional security components at his residence, officials in the security set-up said here on Friday.

Mr Shah has been given Z plus security cover by the Central Reserve Police Force since 2014.

Delhi Police has reviewed the home minister's security after Mr Shah assumed charge as home minister on June 1.

Additional deployment of security personnel at his Akbar Road residence has been made and more Delhi Police force will be provided for peripheral security of his residence.

Also, the Union minister has been allotted official accommodation at 6A, Kishna Menon Marg due to security reasons and he is likely to get the security cover of the elite force National Security Guard (NSG) soon, the officials said.

Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee used to live in 6A Krishna Menon Marg and after his demise, the bungalow has been allotted to the current home minister.
