Mumbai/IBNS: The AC local train service in Maharashtra run by the Western Railways will stop plying from tomorrow and will be replaced by non-AC train services till March 31, Public Relations Officer(PRO) of Western Railway said on Thursday, media reported.

The decision has been taken in view of rising Coronavirus cases in Maharashtra where so far 49 people have been confirmed to be infected by the virus.

Maharashtra is the worst-hit by COVID-19 among all Indian states.

Chief Minister Udhav Thackeray has urged the people to stay indoors and avoid non-essential travels.

"Please try to remain indoors as far as possible, avoid all unnecessary commutes or travels and exercise precautions at all times," Thackeray was quoted as saying by Times Now.
