New Delhi, Jun 23 (UNI): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday expressed serious concern and condemned the rise in crime in the national capital, with nine murders reported in city over the past 24 hours.

Taking a dig at the central government on the issue, the Delhi CM asked who had to be approached when it came to the safety and security of the people in Delhi.

Taking to Twitter, Mr Kejriwal said: "Delhi is witnessing a dangerous spurt in serious crimes. An elderly couple and their domestic help murdered in Vasant Vihar. Nine murders reported in last 24 hours across the city. Whose door should be knocked for safety & security of Delhiites?"

Delhi CM's reaction on Sunday was followed by the morning incident, wherein an elderly couple, along with their 24-year-old female house help, were found dead in their Vasant Vihar flat.

Both the 80-year-old husband and the 75-year-old wife were retired government officials.

On Saturday, a middle-aged couple was also allegedly murdered in Mohan Garden near Dwarka Mor area by a man, who lived with them for over one-and-a-half year.

Police has arrested the man, identified as Vishal Singh, native of Gwalior, had fled with cash after the incident.

In another incident, a private tutor allegedly killed his wife and three children in Mehrauli area, in the wee hours of Saturday.

He was later arrested. He told police that he was under depression.
