795 file nominations for 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana

Hyderabad, Mar 25 (UNI): As many as 795 candidates have filed their nomination papers to contest from the 17 Lok Sabha constituencies in Telangana.

Of the total nominations, 570 nominations were filed on the last day, Monday, alone.

Seven filed on March 18, nine on March 19, 42 on March 20 and 167 nominations were filed on March 22, a statement from chief electoral office here said tonight.

Nizamabad constituency is on top with 245 nominations followed by Secunderabad (67) Nalgonda (48), Bhongir (45), Malkajgiri (43), Khammam (38),Peddapalli (SC) (35), Mahabubnagar (34),Hyderabad (32) Chevella (32), Nagarkurnool (SC) (32), Warangal (SC) (29), Karimnagar (26), Mahabubabad (ST) (26), Zahirabad (22), Adilabad (ST) ( 21), and Medak (20), the statement added.
