Kupwara (Jammu Kashmir): Security forces gunned down two terrorists while foiling an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Keran sector in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara.

Indian forces are engaged in anti-infiltration op in the Union Territory.

"An Infiltration attempt has been successfully prevented with the elimination of two terrorists today on #LoC in Keran Sector, #Kupwara," said an official statement by the Chinar corps, Indian Army.

Earlier, two army soldiers were injured in a gunbattle with terrorists in the Kastigarh area of Doda district.

They were rushed to a government hospital in Doda and were eventually airlifted to the Army hospital through an Army chopper.

"A search operation is underway. I cannot share much information as our operation is in progress and we will soon be successful," DIG Ramban-Doda Range Shridhar Patil, who reached the encounter site at Kashtigarh in Doda, reported news agency ANI.

The encounter came days after four army soldiers, including an officer, were martyred while battling terrorists in the Doda encounter on Tuesday.

The soldiers who laid their lives in the operation were Captain Brijesh Thapa, Naik D Rajesh, Sepoy Bijendra, and Sepoy Ajay.
