12 people killed in Assam road mishap
Guwahati, Feb 8 (IBNS): At least 12 people including including three women were killed and three others injured in a road mishap at NH-37 near Kaziranga in Assam's Golaghat district, officials said.
According to reports, the mishap took place at NH-37 near Kaziranga Latabari area in Golaghat district on the wee hours of Sunday when a speedy vehicle Tata Winger carrying 15 passengers collided with a stranded truck.
At least 12 people were killed and three others injured in the mishap.
The injured persons had rushed to Jorhat Medical College hospital.
"The passengers came from the ongoing Srimanta Sankardeva Sangha's 84th session in Dhakuakhana to Ganakpukhuri area near Dergaon, " a top police official said.
The deceased persons were identified as Dibakar Bora, Noni Bora, Prabin Bora, Runu Bora, Rohit Bora, Dharmeswar Bora, Dugdha Dutta, Lalit Das, Surya Saikia, Atul Bora, Pranati Bora and one have yet to be identified.
