Jammu and Kashmir cop injured, gangster killed in Kathua shootout

A probationary sub-inspector suffered critical injuries while one gangster was killed in a late evening shootout on Tuesday in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The shootout as per police sources was reported when police team conducted raids some wanted criminals in a murder case.

Police however, in a message said that firing incident took place at about 2235 hours between police and gangsters in Government Medical College Kathua.

In shootout, they said that one PSI Deepak Sharma got injured and one gangster died.

Further details awaited, police added.
