Supreme Court live-streams hearing for first time in history with Sena battle

New Delhi/IBNS: Creating history, the Supreme Court Tuesday live-streamed a hearing of the Constitution Bench for the first time Tuesday, media reports said.

The bench, headed by Justice DYZ Chandrachud, was hearing the case pertaining to the claim over the political party Shiv Sena by its two factions, one led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and the other by his immediate predecessor Uddhav Thackeray.

Shinde became the Chief Minister, turning rebel against his own government with the support of 40 odd MLAs, leading to the downfall of the Thackeray regime.

The top court live-streamed the court proceedings four years after it unanimously took the decision to go live with the works in the courtroom.

The live-streaming proceedings can be accessed at webcast.gov.in/scindia/.

The live-streaming may also be accessed by common people through YouTube on their mobile phones and computers.
