Bengali TV actress Pallavi Dey found dead in south Kolkata home

Kolkata: Popular Bengali TV serial actress Pallavi Dey was found hanging on Sunday at her south Kolkata home at Garfa, police said.

The actress in her late 20s was known for her leading role in Ami Sirajer Begum (2018) and was currently playing the female lead in TV show 'Mon Mane Na'.

She was found hanging by her relatives at their Garfa flat in the city at around 0930 hours from the ceiling fan.

She was taken to MR Bangur hospital at Tollygunge where the medics declared her dead.

Her body was sent for autopsy.

Pallavi was very popular among her professional colleagues and became well known for her role in the television serial 'Resham Jhanpi'.

A separate report received from Serampore in the Hooghly district said police constable Biswapriyo Kundu (48) was found hanging at the Piyarapur police phari early on Sunday.

The deceased, a resident of Andul in Howrah district, had joined his new posting at Piyara police phari in 2020 was found hanging at his barrack. The body was sent for postmortem.
