Narada case: Calcutta HC grants interim bail to 3 TMC leaders, former Kolkata Mayor

Kolkata/IBNS: A five-judge bench of the Calcutta High Court on Friday granted an interim bail to three Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders including two West Bengal Ministers and a former Mayor in the Narada case.

West Bengal Ministers Firhad Hakim, Subrata Mukherjee, TMC MLA Madan Mitra and former Kolkata Mayor Sovan Chatterjee were arrested by the CBI on May 17.

The interim bail has been granted on a personal bond of Rs. 2 lakh.

The four accused have been ordered not to give any interview related to the case.

Earlier, a two-judge Division Bench of the Calcutta High Court had ordered house arrest of the four accused.

News portal Narada News released several sting operation footage, where TMC's leaders, ministers, MPs and MLAs were seen allegedly taking bribes.

Questions were also raised as to why several politicians, who crossed over from the TMC to the country's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), were not arrested by the probe agency.
