The senior politician is a TMC MLA from Coochbehar Dakshin assembly seat.

Goswami on Thursday posted on Facebook that it is tough for him to remain in the party any further after being associated with it for the past 22 years.

In a significant development, Trinamool Congress leader Suvendu Adhikari on Friday resigned as the West Bengal Transport Minister, media reports said.

Adhikari sent his resignation letter to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Adhikari, who has been recently seen maintaining distance from Trinamool and holding rallies without party banner or flag, on Thursday resigned as the Chairman of the Hooghly River Bridge Commissioners (HRBC), sources said.

Earlier the Trinamool had tried to reach out to Adhikari on the issue.
