Patna/IBNS: Late Indian actor Sushant Singh Rajput's father KK Singh on Thursday said actress Rhea Chakraborty should be arrested for allegedly murdering the young Bollywood star.

"My son was given drugs by Rhea for a long time. She is his murderer. Rhea and her associates should immediately be arrested and be punished," Singh said, hours after the Narcotics Control Bureau started an investigation following fresh allegations linked to WhatsApp chats reportedly recovered from Sushant's girlfriend Rhea's phone.

However, Rhea's lawyer has denied all allegations that the 28-year-old actress was in touch with drug dealers.

"Rhea Chakraborty has never consumed drugs in her lifetime. She's ready for a blood test any time," her lawyer said in a statement.

Sushant death: Narcotics Control Bureau starts drug probe against Rhea Chakraborty over phone chats

The Narcotics Control Bureau is the latest agency to be associated with the death probe of Sushant after that of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Sushant was found dead at his own flat in Mumbai's Bandra on Jun 14.

Though the Mumbai Police initially stated it to be a suicide case, Singh lodged a First Information Report (FIR) with Bihar Police alleging that Rhea had siphoned off Rs 15 crore from his son's account and other accounts of companies floated with his investments.

Last week, the Supreme Court had handed over the entire probe into Sushant's death to the CBI.
