Bangalore, May 15 (IBNS): In a major development in the political paradigm of Karnataka, HD Kumaraswamy of the Janata Dal Secular has claimed to form government in Karnataka by accepting Congress' support.

"The JDS leader has sought an appointment with Governor Vajubhai Vala to present a letter of support," NDTV reported.

HD Kumaraswamy is likely to become the Chief Minister of the state.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is stumbling to form the government despite emerging as the single largest party in the state because it failed to touch the majority figure.

The result of the Karnataka Assembly polls were declared on Tuesday.

According to the latest trends, the BJP is leading in 105 seats, Congress in 77 and JD(S) in 37. Others have won two seats.

Meanwhile, Congress leader and Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who won from the Badami seat, has submitted his resignation to the Governor.
