Srinagar, Sep 15 (IBNS): Strict restrictions were imposed by authorities in Srinagar on Friday to prevent protests against the killing of top LeT commander Abu Ismail.

According to reports, restrictions under Section 144 of the CrPc have been imposed in areas like Khanyar, Rainawari, Nowhatta, M.R. Gunj and Safa Kadal of Srinagar to maintain law and order following Ismail's death on Thursday.

Authorities snapped internet services in the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir after the Lashkar-e-Taiba commander was killed along with his other Pakistani associate, Chota Qasim in Nowgam of Srinagar.

All colleges and higher secondary schools have been closed in the city as a precautionary measure.

Train services between Baramulla and Bannihal have also been suspended.
