Guwahati, Apr 8 (IBNS) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi had stopped smiling after first phase poll in the state on Apr 4.

Addressing a campaign rally for the second phase poll at Raha in Middle Assam Nagaon district, Modi said people of Assam had decided to change this time.

“After huge polling turnout in first phase poll, Gogoi ji had stopped smiling and now inviting Congress leaders from Delhi to save him. But who didn’t (Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi) save themselves in Delhi (Lok Sabha poll in 2014), how they save Gogoi ji in Assam,” Modi said.

“The Congress leaders are not concerned about the country. They are only concerned for their son and daughters,” Modi said.

“I work with three agendas and these are development, fast development and everywhere development,” the PM said.

On the other hand, Modi attacked former PM Manmohan Singh and said that no one will be scared who are involved in the Coal, 2G Spectrum scams under the UPA government.

Modi said that the country had suffered several times by hung government and he appealed the people of Assam to make an absolute majority government in the state.

“Don’t give remote control to others,” Modi appealed to the people of the state.

Earlier, Modi offered his prayer to Maa Kamakhya on Friday morning on the first day of Navaratri.

Modi had also addressed three more rallies at Rangia, Barpeta Road and Maligaon in Guwahati.

The second phase assembly poll for 61 constituencies will be held on Apr 11.
