Kolkata/IBNS: Starmark, in association with Penguin, hosted an interactive session with senior journalist A.K. Bhattacharya, the author of The Rise of Goliath: Twelve Disruptions That Changed India this month.

Former senior journalist Pradeep Gooptu was in a conversation with Bhattacharya.

In the book, the author starts with the 1947 Partition, then takes the readers through Statism, creation of state enterprises, then the Emergency, and finally the 1991 reforms.

The last chapter of the book gives readers a peek into the disruptions the country could face in the coming years.

In the interactive session, Bhattacharya said, "The book is not for experts. The purpose of this book is to enlighten the generation of Indians who were not aware of the various shocks, turbulence, and changes that happened in the Indian political economy, and how they happened."
