Seminar on Ram Janmabhoomi begins in DU

New Delhi, Jan 9 (IBNS): Amid protests, Delhi University campus is hosting a seminar on Ram Janmabhoomi on Saturday.

BJP leader Subramanian Swamy, who was one of the speakers in the event, tweeted: "Today is the first step for Ram Mandir construction-seminar of leading "saffron" intellectuals and scholars to prepare a clear list of facts."

He later said: "Start of Ram Temple seminar."

DU's Arts Faculty by Arundhati Vashishtha Anusandhan Peeth (AVAP) is hosting the seminal titled "Shri Ram Janma Bhoomi Temple: Emerging Scenario".

According to reports, students belonging to the National Students' Union Of India (NSUI) and left wing unions demonstrated outside the seminar venue against the event.

Several students have been reportedly detained.
