Samsung’s new Galaxy Watch could completely change how you track your health. Check out now

Samsung Electronics has announced a major upgrade to its Samsung Health app, positioning the upcoming Galaxy Watch as a proactive, intelligent health companion powered by AI-driven insights.

Starting June 8, Samsung will begin rolling out the updated app experience, designed to showcase key health features arriving with the next-generation Galaxy Watch.

The update aims to simplify daily health management by converting complex biometric data — including sleep patterns, activity levels, and physiological signals — into clear, actionable guidance.

“Samsung Health is evolving to connect health data measured by Galaxy Watch with AI-based insights, enabling users to understand their physical and mental condition more easily and intuitively,” said Hon Pak, Senior Vice President and Head of the Digital Health Team for Samsung Electronics’ Mobile eXperience (MX) Business.

He added that Samsung will continue expanding proactive and personalised health management across its connected Galaxy ecosystem.

AI-Driven Health Features

The latest Samsung Health upgrade introduces a suite of AI-powered tools designed to transform how users track and understand their wellbeing.

Vitals: Smarter Overnight Health Tracking

The upgraded Vitals feature analyses five key overnight biometrics — heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, skin temperature, and blood oxygen — against individual baseline levels. Instead of frequent alerts, it only notifies users when meaningful deviations are detected, helping identify potential illness or recovery needs without unnecessary interruptions.

Heart Health Score: Unified Long-Term Indicator

Building on the earlier Vascular Load metric, the new Heart Health Score combines sleep, stress, activity, and body composition data into a single daily indicator. It provides users with a clearer understanding of factors influencing long-term cardiovascular health.

Daily Cardio Load: Smarter Training Guidance

Daily Cardio Load tracks accumulated cardiovascular strain and compares it with optimal training capacity. It offers personalised recommendations for workout intensity and recovery, helping users avoid burnout while maintaining fitness goals.

Fitness Index: Personalised Progress Tracking

The Fitness Index evaluates VO₂ max, heart rate trends, and activity levels to assess overall fitness compared to peer groups. It highlights strengths and weaknesses and delivers tailored goals for continuous improvement.

Redesigned Samsung Health Experience

Samsung has also redesigned the app interface around five core pillars: Sleep, Activity, Nutrition, Mindfulness, and Vitals.

The updated Home screen provides a centralised view of Energy Score and daily wellness insights, allowing users to better understand how different aspects of their lifestyle interact.

Enhanced Wellness Monitoring

Additional upgrades bring deeper personalisation and long-term tracking improvements:

Antioxidant Index now includes trend charts and history logs to link dietary habits with health outcomes.

AGEs Index runs in the background to track long-term metabolic changes influenced by lifestyle choices.

A new Hearing Health feature monitors ambient noise through Galaxy Watch, helping users protect their hearing in noisy environments.

A Connected Health Ecosystem

Samsung emphasised that the full potential of these features is unlocked through its integrated Galaxy ecosystem, enabling seamless health tracking across smartphones, wearables, and connected devices.

The company said these advancements mark a step toward a fully AI-powered health platform designed to deliver proactive, personalised wellness insights in real time.

The new capabilities will debut with Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Watch lineup, signalling a broader shift toward intelligent, preventive digital health management.
