ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA), in collaboration with EPM Bindi International, proudly celebrated the graduation ceremony of the second batch of "Solar Sakhis" on May 31. The program, which lasted three months, equipped 23 women with comprehensive training in solar technology.

Distinguished guests graced the occasion, including K. Atoli Sema, President of the Central Nagaland Women's Association (CNWA). In her address, Sema urged the "solar sakhis" from various states in the northeast region to become exemplary role models and torchbearers for women residing in rural villages, reported Nagaland Post.

Emphasizing the significance of skill development, she stated that in today's world, survival depends on being skilled and industrious, rather than solely relying on minimal education.

As a special gesture, the esteemed guest handed over demo kits to all the candidates who successfully completed the training, symbolizing their readiness to embark on a path of self-reliance.

Rev. Fr. Roy George SDB, Executive Director of AIDA, praised the uniqueness of the training program, stating that the solar sakhis possess a skill that will be increasingly important in the future.

He highlighted the global shift towards solar, renewable, and green energy, asserting that the training empowers the sakhis to be self-sufficient and provides them with the means to earn a livelihood using their advanced skills.

Additionally, he shared insights into AIDA's interventions with rural communities and expressed gratitude to EMP Bindi International for their collaboration.

Tarandeep Singh, the Project Coordinator of Rural Marketing at EMP Bindi International, briefed the audience about the organization's objectives.

As a women-centric organization working across 19 states in India and globally, Bindi International aims to empower women and foster sustainable development.

The event served as a testament to the transformative power of skill development and the dedication of organizations like AIDA and EMP Bindi International to uplift women in rural communities.
