Microsoft rolling out major Copilot update on Edge for Android and iOS powered devices

IT major Microsoft is all set to roll out a major Edge browser update for smartphones with more AI-powered Copilot features, media reports said.

The update is rolling out gradually on both Android and iOS powered devices. The new features added to the smartphone app exist on Edge for desktops, but Microsoft is closing down the gap on desktop and mobile with this update, reports Business Standard.

The updated Edge for Android and iOS gets plugin support for AI-assistant Copilot, similar to the desktop counterpart of the browser, the Indian news paper reported.

What is Copilot?

It combines the power of large language models (LLMs) with data in the Microsoft Graph and the Microsoft 365 apps to turn words into the most powerful productivity tool on the planet.

Microsoft recently launched the Copilot app specifically for Android devices.

Where to get it?

The new app is available in the Google Play Store, offering access to Microsoft’s AI-powered Copilot without the need for the Bing mobile app, reported The Verge.

Microsoft’s Copilot app on Android is very similar to ChatGPT, with access to chatbot capabilities, image generation through DALL-E 3, and the ability to draft text for emails and documents. It also includes free access to OpenAI’s latest GPT-4 model, something you have to pay for if you’re using ChatGPT, the news portal reported.
