Kosha Mangsho Roll to Gurer Sandesh Flan: Starbucks Kolkata unveils special Pujo menu blending Bengali flavours with global favourites
Kolkata/IBNS: Starbucks Kolkata has launched its all-new Pujo special menu at its flagship Starbucks Reserve Store at Quest Mall, Kolkata.
The launch featured a mix of drinks, food, and desserts, blending contemporary dishes with traditional Bengali cuisine, with the tagline "Aamar Pujo, Aamar Starbucks"
The new menu includes dishes such as Kosha Mangsho Roll and Gurer Sondesh Flan, along with returning favourites like the Dhakai Chicken Wrap, Bhetki Bhaja Sandwich, Chingri Turnover, Shorshe Chicken Burger, Aloo Posto Burger, and Kalakand Pie. Each of the dishes contains a mix of Bengali traditional flavours wrapped into a Starbucks contemporary food style.
Head of Product and Marketing at TATA Starbucks, Mitali Maheshwari, spoke on the importance of institutions incorporating and adopting the heritage and culture of the locations they are established in, taking into account Bengal’s Durga Pujo.

“Durga Puja is one of East India’s most cherished celebrations, bringing communities together through shared traditions, food and togetherness. This year, we’re delighted to mark the occasion with a refreshed menu that brings beloved regional flavours to the signature Starbucks experience.
“New additions such as the Kosha Mangsho Roll and Gurer Sandesh Flan join returning customer favourites, offering a contemporary take on flavours that are deeply rooted in the region. As our stores continue to be a welcoming third place, we look forward to being part of the many conversations, connections and celebrations that make Pujo so special,” said Maheshwari.
Taking into account the food, the Aloo Posto Burger was derived from the comforting flavours of aloo posto, a vegetarian offering combining potatoes and lightly spiced poppy seed notes for a familiar yet innovative festive indulgence.
Coming to the non-vegetarian section, the Kosha Mangsho Roll serves the iconic flavours of the traditional Bengali Kosha Mangsho and brings it in the form of a roll. Each dish is a unique take on Kolkata culture and food choices.
In conversation with IBNS, District Coffee Master and Store Manager of Starbucks Reserve, Kolkata, Najib Islam spoke on the launch of the new menu and its nuances.

"To celebrate the start of Durga Puja, we have launched special new foods, which are curated especially for Kolkata. So a total of 13 stores are operating in Kolkata right now to, you know, give the people the full essence of Pujo. We have come up with 8 special new foods, including two burgers, one sandwich, a turnover, two wraps, and two desserts.
"Naming all those products, we have blended Bengali cuisine and Continental cuisines together. So the products, the names, basically are very relevant to all of us, and like the products which are there, all those are very close to our heart as the people of Bengal," Najib Islam said.
Starting from October 10, marking the start of the 10-day festival of Durga Puja, iconic Starbucks locations across Kolkata will open from 5 am in the morning, notably the locations of Park Mansion, Southern Avenue, Loudon Street and New Alipore.
