Kolkata's Loreto College hosts talk on women's health by lifestyle medicine physician Dr. Vanita Rahaman

Kolkata/IBNS: Loreto College Wellness Cell in collaboration with IQAC, Loreto College, Kolkata, and the Food Committee organised a talk on Women’s Health on March 17 at the college auditorium. 

Dr. Vanita Rahaman, principal investigator in trials investigating the role of online nutrition education programs in weight loss and diabetes reversal and a clinical instructor in medicine at the George Washington University School of Medicine, delivered an insightful session on women's health, focusing on the benefits of plant-based diets.

Dr. Rahman is a board-certified internal medicine and lifestyle medicine physician, certified nutritionist, and personal trainer.

She has authored several books on plant-based nutrition and published articles in peer-reviewed medical journals.

Dr. Rahman discussed weight management and acne issues and debunked common myths about dairy products.

The talk also covered the causes of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and breast cancer, along with preventive measures.

The session concluded with an engaging question-and-answer session, during which students clarified their doubts.

The event was followed by a wholesome vegan lunch, reinforcing the importance of healthy dietary choices through plant-based nutrition.
