Delhi University cut off list on Monday

New Delhi, June 30 (IBNS): The first cut-off list of the Delhi University, which was embroiled in a standoff with the UGC for days over the undergraduate course duration, will be out on Monday.

The list is for admissions to the courses under the three-year format to which it agreed.

The university, which was adamant on not reverting to a three-year-course for a four-year one, has finally accepted the diktat of UGC.

Earlier, the Delhi University (DU) said it will begin its admission process from Tuesday.

After days of uncertainty, the admission for Under Graduate courses in colleges under DU will begin from  July 1 (Tuesday).

This comes after the DU finally gave up its stance on a Four Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP) and agreed to a three-year format stipulated by the UGC (University Grants Commission), buckling before growing protests by students and teachers.

"In line with the directive of the UGC the University has decided to roll back the FYUP. Consequently the admission process shall be conducted under the scheme of courses that were in force in the academic session 2012-13 in all the colleges of the University of Delhi," the Delhi University said.

However, the students in favour of the FYUP protested on Saturday.
